Dues are due NOW for Fiscal Year July 2008 - June 2009
It's time to pay
dues, if you have not already done so. Dues are
$36 for a single membership and $42 for two
persons living in the same household. Then, one more
thing, you need to attend at least three meetings per year
to be in good standing and eligible to participate in shows.

AAA Fall Show - 16455 EAST AVENUE OF THE FOUNTAINS
FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ
AAA-JURIED ARTISTS: If you signed up for this show, you should have already sent your rental fee ($45 per panel side/floor space to Judy Delmonico-Roll at AAA. (Check payable to SAL.) This show will be in a large tent, and will be the same weekend as the annual Fountain Hills Fine Arts Festival, which attracts many visitors.
EXHIBITION GUIDE ADVERTISING: Special pricing available to AAA members. Deadline for submitting ad is October 20, 2008. Contact Judy at jdelmonico-roll@cox.net or 480-990-1359 for more info.
SAL MEMBERS: We hope you will join us at this Show, which will have many activities…FREE artist demos, FREE 2-hour artist workshops, FREE plein air paintout, quick draw, art supplier expo with special discounts! It should be a great time!
AAA OUTREACH PROGRAMS Hope for Women: We need women artists who can volunteer 3 hours once a month to teach victims of domestic abuse. If you can help, please contact AAA rep Judy (as above) for an application. Or you may direct questions to AAA’s Program Director for this Outreach Program, Joyce White at joycewhite@joycewhiteafricanjewelry.com or 602-304-1040.
Adobe Mountain Correctional Facility: We need volunteers to teach at this facility for boys, ages 8 to 18. If you could present a one-time 1-hour workshop on a Wednesday afternoon, it would be greatly appreciated.
Volunteers who have participated in this type of program have found it to be very rewarding. If you can help with this worthy cause, please contact Nancy

AAA ART LIBRARY All AAA-juried artists who were juried prior to March 1,
2008, are asked to submit 3 new images for this library. Contact Judy (as above) for specifics. Or you may check the AAA newsletter at for more information. Your CDs for your SAL submission must be turned in to Judy (AAA Rep.), who will turn them in to AAA.
AAA’s next jurying deadline is Oct. 1, 2008.

AAA Spring Show - Event to be held on March 13th & 14th in conjunction with the City of Peoria's Fine Art Festival. Additional space will be available for artists who are not AAA-juried members. More info to come. |
IT'S COMING UP ROSES - On March 28, 2009 the AZ Art Alliance and the Scottsdale Artists School will partner to present a one-of-a-kind event for artists. There will be mini-workshops, giveaways, art supply store "trunk sales". This is not a show or exhibition but rather an opportunity for artists to socialize, network, paint or draw and have some fun. This free event will take place at the Scottsdale Artists School and will help commemorate the school's new Rose Garden.
Scottsdale Artists' School - Two of America's foremost landscape artists return to celebrate the scholl's 25th anniversary. Kevin Macpherson and Matt Smith will demonstrate and exhibit in an all day special event at the Sagebrush Theater on Saturday, November 8, 2008.
